Biography

JANE KELLAGHAN
Artistic director, Dancer & Choreographer
Founder of cruX dance theatre
Jane graduated from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds, UK with a B.A. in Performing Arts (dance) in 1995.
In 2000 she was awarded a Masters Degree with first class honors in Dance Performance from the University of Limerick. Jane has performed with Daghdha Dance Company around Ireland & in New York. She has Choreographed and performed for Cork City Ballet annually since 1997.
In 1997 she attended the Suffolk Dance Conference as a representative of the Frikin Crane Centre in Cork and performed a work by Wayne McGregor – Random Dance Co.
In 1998, worked as Choregorapher in residence at the West Cork Arts Centre with Tara Brandel, produced and performed ‘Mna Rua’, performing both indoors & outdoors around Ireland.
Since 1995 Jane has been responsible for Contemporary Dance Technique & Choreography Craft in the Vocational Education Committee (VEC) Diploma in Dance course run by Coláiste StÃofáin Naofa based at the Institute for Choreography & Dance at the Firkin Crane, Cork.
She also runs cruX Youth Dance, which is a contemporary & creative dance workshop for children.
