To aid and encourage a broadening of the artistic and cultural vision for dance in Ireland through research, development and creativity combined with the highest level of dance skill.

Crux dance theatre was founded to focus on contemporary dance development at a professional level, to aid audience development and to identify an ideology both culturally and politically, making dance more visible and accessible both in Cork and around the country.

Thus providing a framework for activating a vision and intelligence of Irish contemporary dance theatre at local level.
